A beautiful home  is of no use if if does not make it easier for you to live your life well, or indeed reflect who you are.  I work with my clients, not simply on the look and feel of their homes but also to get the best out of the space available.  I am trained in spatial planning, have a good understanding of structural considerations and building regulations.  I can advise on internal structural alterations, electrical and lighting requirements, as well as suitable materials, fabrics, furnishings and decorative elements.

Depending on requirements, I can provide plans, electrical plans, elevations, drawings, design boards and detailed specifications of selected furnishings as well as recommending tradespeople to help turn the plans into reality.

Start by Contacting Me with a brief description of your problem and what you are hoping to achieve.

We can arrange an initial consultation, the purpose of which is for me to understand your project better and for you to get to know me.  I want my clients to feel trust and excitement and so this meeting is a good opportunity to decide whether I am the right person to help you achieve your goals.

I ask every client to fill in a detailed questionnaire — again, this is to ensure that I, and you, understand fully what you need and what is possible. Some clients may simply require a floor plan or mood board, while others will need a complete package of detailed drawings and specifications. I like to provide an outline of deliverables and set a fixed fee as early as possible — while this is not set in stone, as sometimes more or less is required as the project unfolds, it helps to know what you can expect from the relationship!

Some examples of current and previous projects include:

  • Two kitchen and utility redesigns, including structural alterations for one client and consultancy on an extension for another
  • Conversion of stables into a two-storey holiday let, including room layout, drawing up plans, staircase design and furnishings and fittings
  • The furnishing and decorative elements of a large (c. 7000 sq. ft) whole house refurbishment

I am happy to work alongside you or your building firm, or recommend a project manager or specific tradespeople to help complete the job.

For smaller decorating dilemmas, I work on an hourly consultancy fee — for example you may need help choosing paint colours, working out how to pull a room together that is not quite working or make over a tired kitchen when a complete refit is not an option.

There is a common preconception that Interior Designers will impose a set 'look' on a client's home or that it may not end up feeling like your own space. Of course my own home reflects my personal taste, but my job is to help you find yours.  If you would like to see how wide-ranging my tastes and inspirations are, please take a look at my Pinterest page
